Daniel Zajfman


Daniel Zajfman is an Israeli physicist whose main research interests are centered on the Physics of simple molecular ions. On December 1, 2006 he was elected as the tenth president of the Weizmann Institute.

Daniel Zajfman was born in Brussels, Belgium. In 1979 he emigrated to Israel where he met his wife Jolle Hayoun. In 1983 he graduated in Physics , at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa. He continued his studies at the Technion and in 1989 received his PhD, in atomic physics. He conducted his postdoctoral at the Argonne National Laboratory, Illinois, USA.
